Thank you to each of the wonderful participants for donating your time to be involved in this effort through the interview and photo shooting process. For those who hadn't met me prior to becoming involved in this project, thank you for trusting me in a world where sometimes strange things happen when you invest trust in strangers. I thank each of you for your candour during our conversations, and your willingness to explore my ideas.
I shot this project using a full day at Version1 studio. After many years of working in the service industry, I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur of customer service. It is for this reason I'm especially thankful for the studio's willingness to offer a gesture of goodwill after recognising their blunders during the planning stages. Their accountability turned what would have been a customer service nightmare into a very positive experience that will cause me to recommend and reuse them in the future.
Finally, I'm thankful for the City of Toronto being the cultural melting pot that it is. I have a certain fascination with geography and learning about foreign cultures that is very faintly reflected in my inclusion of flag emoji representing the subject when I post images on social media. I'm always very impressed with the diversity of cultures and ethnicities that exist in this city. For example, this project includes seven individuals representing influence from 10 countries outside of Canada, with the only overlap being Israel of all places – and that's without explicitly trying to make diversity a feature of this project.
